Holiday Overview

       Gokyo lake trekking is another most famous trekking destination in Everest region. This trek gives best view of this region and one can get the magnificient view both from Kalapathaar and Gokyo Ri.

     It is famous because, you will have an opportunity to explore the mountain valley, Gokyo valley and the mountain lake located at 4,750 m. height.

     Explore the wide range of sceneries of majestic Himalayas including of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamserku. Gokyo Ri is known to be the best accessible viewpoint in the Everest region, possessing a multitude massifs that throng the horizon.

     Gokyo Lake lies in the north-east of Kathmandu and to the west of the Everest base camp. This is the must do trekking for the ones with longer time in this region and is more reccomended than the direct route to EBC. The trekking to this area offers really excellent views of mountains lying on the Everest Himalayan range. The Gokyo valley, with an assortment of turquoise lakes and an arc of snow-capped mountains, is the lengthiest glacier in Nepal.

     Gokyo Lake trekking beings with a short flight from Kathmandu to lukla, then the trail follows along the bank of Dudh Koshi River, Namche Bazaar, the beautiful Sherpa village. Explore the life of highland dwellers, while proceeding through villages on the way. Learn about their culture, customs and relish the native cuisines. And then it finally takes to Gokyo lake making excursion to the whole around, you will return back to Lukla and subsequently fly back to Kathmandu.

     Gokyo – Gokyo Ri to EBC – Kalapathaar trek is one of the best trek in this region with a nice pass over the Cho La.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport and transfer to Hotel.

Day 03: Flight to Lukla & trek begins, Camp at Phakding (2610m.) 3-4 hrs. Lodge

  • 1 Day is better to have as a provision just in case weather at Lukla got bad to fly back to Kathmandu)
