Holiday Overview

Manaslu trek Opened for trekking only since 1991, Located in west-central Nepal, the 177-km trek around Manaslu provides strong walkers the best that Nepal has to offer: fantastic mountain scenery, spanning altitudes from 375m to 5,300m.a diverse range of ecosystems and ethnic cultures. And a trail that puts one physically closer to Tibet than any other trek in Nepal.

The main attraction of this trek is magnificent Mt. Manaslu 8,163 m and the LarkyaLa Pass at 5,216 m. This trekking route follows the settlements of different ethnic groups of people, there is the chance to meet people from very different communities and observe their largely untouched life style and culture.

When the trail heads up to Manaslu Circuit, the settlement of the Gurung is found, a community of people originally from Tibet who still speak Tibetan dialects and practice Tibetan Buddhism. It provides spectacular beauty along the border of Nepal and China and is now a controlled trekking route which allows organized trekking groups special permits to venture round its spectacular circuit.

The Manaslu Circuit Trek starts from Soti Khol/Arughat after 8-9 hours drive from Kathmandu via Prithivi Highway. The trail takes us from grasslands to wilder landscapes. We cross Larkya pass at an elevation of 5160m. The route from Samagaun to Larkya pass is the toughest part of the route that links Buri Gandaki with Marsyangdi valley. From Larya Pass, we descend down to Bimtang through beautiful alpine meadows and head back to Besisahar where we finally end our trekking journey.

If you wish for an organized and well facilitated trek then it is recommended to take a camping trek throughout the whole Manaslu Circuit, as the tea houses aren’t well facilitated along the Manaslu circuit.. Recently, basic tea houses have been built along the Manaslu circuit route, with accommodation and meals from local inns, however as these are fairly new, there may sometimes be issues with cleanliness or the risk of illness from a lack of hygiene. An organized camping trek is recommended so our team can safeguard your health with our chef maintaining hygienestandards and supplying delicious and nutritious food.

And ManasluTsum Valley Trekking is a newly opened trekking route which takes you to one of the remote and spectacular valley i.e. Tsum valley. Situated in the northern Gorkha district of Nepal. The Tsum Valley’s acquaintance with Tibet, natural beauty and its pristine culture make this trekking unique. Tsum comes from the Tibetan work ‘Tsombo’, which means vivid.

Against the majestic backdrop of the Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal and Baudha Himal ranges, this serene Himalayan valley is rich in ancient art, culture, and religion. The local people are mostly of Tibetan origin and seak a unique dialect. Trails are strewn with artistic chortens and lined with mani walls made of thousands of stone slabs carved with deities and prayers. The Tsum valley has a long history of Buddhism. The Buddhist saint Milarepa is believed to have meditated in the caves of there mountains. Traditionally Tsum valley was a culturally distinct geographical area called ‘Tsum Tso Chuksum’, which means thirteen provinces ruled as a single territory.

The ancient remains of the Tsum Kingdom are still visibletoday. Due to its remotemness and inaccessibility, this sacred valley and its people have been bypassed by mainstream development for centuries. This trek has been arranging  as a tea house and camping trek both. Tsum Valley Trek commences from Kathmandu and head towards Arughat. It continues by walking through green countryside and passing through small Hindu villages with beautiful landscapes. It is really so wonderful, beautiful, nice trekking route in Manaslu region. And  this is we can do with Manaslu circuit also.It a kind of more amazing trekking and more attractive.

How to get to Manaslu Circuit trek

The Manaslu trekking route normally starts from Arughat, which is reached by asix to seven hour bus trip from Kathmandu. Our Manaslu Circuit trek package includes private jeep to Arughat.

New Tea house in Dharmashala before LarkyaLa Pass

There is now a tea house lodge in Dharmashala, recently opened by a trekking agency. This is the only overnight accommodation overnight before the LarkyaLa Pass and makes the Manaslu trek a little easier as prior to this, trekkers had to either camp overnight before crossing the Larkya La Pass or trek an extra three to four hours from Samdo to Larkya La pass- Bimtang.

Electricity and drinking water along the Manaslu Circuit Trek

Electricity along the Manaslu Circuit trek is available at almost every settlement to charge your camera battery. There is no safe drinking water provided by Manaslu Conservation Area Project as in the Annapurna Conservation Area so it is suggested to drink boiled water or drink the spring water only after treatment.
